Data Analyst, Growth
About Lightyear
We’re on a mission to make investing better for everyone in Europe. More specifically, we’re making it light years better (sorry… we had to!). We’re combining multi-currency accounts with unlimited access to global markets so that everyone in Europe can invest without sneaky hidden fees or unnecessary barriers.
In just four years, we’ve gone from idea to fully regulated in both the UK and EU, launched across 25 countries, raised $58M, and built a 70+ strong team from Europe’s top fintechs and startups.
We’re backed by a stellar line-up of investors – including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sir Richard Branson, Mosaic Ventures, NordicNinja, and some of Europe’s top founders like Taavet Hinrikus (Wise), Jaan Tallinn (Skype), and Markus Villig (Bolt).
Description
The Data team at Lightyear is small, lean, and handles the entire end-to-end pipeline – from platform observability and ingestion to analytics engineering and governance. We don’t just "provide reports"; we build the infrastructure that empowers a company of data-savvy individuals (yes, our colleagues write their own SQL) to move fast and stay informed.
We are looking for a Growth Data Analyst to focus on expansion. You will be the strategic partner for our Marketing and Product teams, translating raw data into actionable growth loops. You’ll bridge the gap between complex datasets and commercial decisions, ensuring every Euro we spend and every feature we build is backed by evidence.
What you will do
Own the analysis of the customer journey – from the first ad click to the first trade. You’ll identify where we’re leaking users and propose data-driven fixes.
Build the foundational frameworks for LTV, payback periods, and churn signals that allow our team to plan the next phase of our global expansion.
Act as the lead for our attribution strategy, mapping complex user journeys to reveal which campaigns are genuinely driving high-intent sign-ups versus top-of-funnel noise.
Develop data-driven workflows that empower our Marketing and Product teams to segment users, trigger personalised lifecycle experiments, and track campaign ROI with high precision and zero friction.
Apply rigorous analytics engineering standards – including version control, testing, and clean documentation – to ensure our growth metrics are modular, scalable, and the undisputed 'single source of truth' for the company.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, ideally in Growth, Marketing or Product domains.
You are comfortable owning projects from scratch.
You are an expert in SQL and comfortable with Python for data analysis. You don’t need to be a backend engineer, but you should be excited to work with dbt and Redshift.
You’re as comfortable writing complex SQL queries as you are explaining a cohort’s retention curve to a Marketing Specialist.
You aren’t a 'ticket-taker.' If you notice a drop in funnel conversion or an anomaly in user behaviour, you don't wait to be asked – you investigate, find the 'why,' and present the fix to the team.
